ECO Window Systems Fence Installation: The Austin Owner’s Guide

ECO Window Systems fence installation in Austin typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 installed, and most jobs are completed within two to five working days once materials land. We stock direct-fit ECO Window Systems fence components on our trucks and schedule free measurements across the Austin metro within 48 hours of your call. The most common way Austin homeowners discover they need this work: a windstorm or shifting clay soil moves a post, and suddenly the fence section no longer lines up with the window frame or the gate won’t latch.

We’re an independent Austin contractor, not a dealer or affiliate of ECO Window Systems. What that means for you is simple: we match, price, and install the components without a sales pitch for a full system you don’t need.

Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

A remodeled living room with built-in shelves around the fireplace

ECO Window Systems fence installation covers the aluminum and vinyl perimeter fence lines that pair with the brand’s Series 2000 and Series 3000 window packages. The Series 2000 uses a narrower 2-1/4″ post channel, while the Series 3000 uses the wider 2-5/8″ post. They are not interchangeable. If you grab a Series 2000 picket for a Series 3000 post, it will rattle in the channel and fail within the first strong wind. We see that mistake on DIY jobs around Mueller and East Austin more than anywhere else.

Identifying your series takes thirty seconds. Look at the inside face of any post cap or the bottom rail extrusion. ECO stamps the series number there. If the stamp is worn off, measure the post channel opening with a tape measure. That measurement tells us everything we need to quote the correct parts before we ever step on your property.

On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question: ECO’s own aluminum pickets last, on average, 18 to 22 years in Austin’s UV and humidity. Quality aftermarket equivalents from the same extrusion mills typically run 12 to 15 years. The price difference is usually $8 – $14 per linear foot. We quote both options and let you decide based on how long you plan to own the home.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Fence Installation Is Failing

  • Posts leaning more than two inches out of plumb. This almost always traces to Austin’s expansive clay soil. The soil swells after rain and contracts in drought, cycling pressure against the concrete footing until the post shifts. Once it’s moving, every section attached to it is compromised.
  • Pickets pulling free from the top or bottom rail. The aluminum clip that holds the picket has fatigued or corroded. This is most common within five feet of a sprinkler head, where constant moisture accelerates oxidation.
  • Gate dragging or failing to latch. The hinge post has moved, or the gate frame itself has racked. The gate is the heaviest-moving part of the system, so it always fails first.
  • Visible white oxidation or pitting on aluminum surfaces. This is cosmetic at first, but over Austin summers it deepens and eventually weakens the metal at fastener points.
  • Loose or missing post caps letting water into the post channel. Water pools inside, sits against the fasteners, and rusts them from the inside out. The fence can look fine on the outside while the connection points rot.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A whole-home remodel with the living, dining and kitchen areas opened up

For a standard residential lot in Austin, expect the following installed ranges:

  • Partial section replacement (up to 30 linear feet): $3,500 – $5,500
  • Full fence replacement with existing posts in good condition: $5,000 – $7,500
  • Full fence replacement with new posts and concrete footings: $6,500 – $9,000
  • Gate-only replacement with new hardware: $800 – $1,800, depending on width and swing type

These are written price ranges. Before any work starts, you receive a written line-item price that covers parts, labor, haul-away of the old fence, and the concrete work for new posts if needed. There are no change orders unless you add scope. Every ECO Window Systems fence installation we complete is covered by our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right within a year of completion, we return and fix it at no cost.

DIY or Call Us?

You can absolutely check a few things yourself. Confirm where your ECO Window Systems series stamp is. Measure the post channel. Note how many pickets are loose and whether the gate still swings true. Send us photos and measurements, and we can usually tell you over the phone whether you’re looking at a repair or a replacement.

The part where DIY goes wrong is the concrete work. Setting posts in Austin clay is not a dig-a-hole-and-fill-it job. Footings need to go below the active soil zone, which in our part of Texas is about 18 to 24 inches, and they need to be oversized enough to resist the swell cycles. Get that wrong and the new fence will be leaning again in three years. That’s the expensive mistake we’re called in to fix. If you’re not sure, call (903) 623-1966 and we’ll give you an honest read on whether this is a weekend project or a crew job. Tell me what’s wrong with it. We’ll figure out what it actually needs.
