Delta Windows & Doors: The Austin Owner’s Guide
If you’ve got a Delta window or door with a failed part, we can usually replace it within a few days of your call. Delta-compatible window and door parts installed in Austin typically run $200 to $1,400 including labor, depending on whether we’re swapping a roller, a lock set, weatherstripping, or a full panel assembly. Call (903) 623-1966 with your model number and we’ll give you a written price before any work starts.
Most people don’t set out to research Delta replacement parts. They find us the morning after a patio door refuses to slide, or when a window crank keeps spinning without moving the sash, or when a deadbolt no longer lines up with the strike plate and the door won’t lock. Austin’s heat and humidity accelerate these failures. Vinyl seals shrink and crack. Rollers get gritty with dust and hard water. Latches that worked fine in a milder climate give out years earlier here because the sun bakes the metal and the hardware expands and contracts through hundred-degree days and cool Hill Country nights.
Which Delta Models This Applies To

Delta window and door parts are not one-size-fits-all, and that’s the single most common mistake we see when people order a part online and then call us to put it in. Delta manufactures several distinct lines, and a roller from a Delta 1500 series slider will not work on a Delta 1600 unit. Before you spend money, check the corner of the glass for a small etched label with the model name and serial number. If the label has worn off, measure the visible glass width and height and take the original part with you if it’s out of the frame. We’ll match dimensions and profile.
For Delta-branded windows and patio doors built in the last 15 years, OEM parts are still available for most series, including the 1500, 1600, 1600 Premium, and Tuscany lines. You’ll pay more for OEM: a Delta Tuscany roller assembly can run $40 to $60 per roller versus $10 to $15 for a quality aftermarket equivalent. The aftermarket parts we stock are spec-matched for the specific series, not universal fits. In our experience, aftermarket rollers and weatherstripping hold up as well as OEM in Austin’s climate, but lock sets and hinges are where we recommend staying with Delta parts. The tolerances on those are tight, and a slightly off aftermarket lock won’t line up with the multipoint hardware.
We also work on Delta entry doors, French doors, and sliding patio doors. If you see a label that says Delta but also KraftMaid, Cambria, or Silestone in your kitchen, that’s handled through our cabinetry and surface partners, and we can point you in the right direction. For windows and doors, Delta is what carries the warranty and what determines part compatibility.

Signs Your Delta Windows & Doors Is Failing
- Slider drags or grinds when opening. The roller bearings have worn flat or the track is dented from years of foot traffic. Forcing the door will score the track and double the repair cost.
- Crank handle spins but sash doesn’t move. The gear inside the operator has stripped. This is common on Delta casement windows in Austin because dried-out grease turns the gears brittle after a few hot summers.
- Air leaks around the sash edge, and you can feel heat pressing through in July. The weatherstripping has compressed or crumbled. Delta’s bulb-style seals degrade fast under direct Texas sun exposure.
- Door won’t latch or deadbolt won’t throw cleanly. The slab has sagged, or the mortise in the frame has worn oblong. Sometimes it’s a misaligned strike plate. Sometimes the multipoint mechanism inside the door is done for.
- Condensation or haze between the two panes of glass. That means the glass assembly’s seal failed. On most Delta units, the glass panel is a sealed unit we replace as one piece rather than rebuilding the sash.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For an Austin homeowner, expect these ranges for Delta-specific repair and replacement work:
- Sliding patio door rollers (both doors): $180 to $350 installed.
- Weatherstripping replacement (single window or door): $120 to $300 installed.
- Casement window operator and crank: $200 to $400 installed.
- Lock set or multipoint hardware swap: $250 to $500 installed.
- Full sash or glass panel replacement on a Delta window: $600 to $1,400 installed, depending on glass type and size.
Every quote is a written line-item price, parts and labor separated, before work starts. The range comes down to whether we’re replacing a single worn bearing or a whole assembly, whether the door has to come off its track, and whether the frame needs any repair before the new part can seat correctly. Our work is covered for 365 days from completion. If it fails in that window, we come back at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
You can check the label, take measurements, and clean the track with a vacuum and a rag. Those things genuinely help, and they may fix a door that’s just dirty. But pulling a heavy Delta slider off its track to reach bottom rollers is where DIY jobs go sideways. The panel weighs more than people expect, and when it tips, it takes out the glass and maybe a finger with it. Replacing a multipoint lock also means getting the hardware timed correctly with the Euro-cylinder, and if it’s slightly off, you’ll be locked out of a door you can’t open.
Most Delta part swaps take us under two hours when the part is on the truck. Tell me what’s wrong with it. We’ll figure out what it actually needs. Call (903) 623-1966 and we’ll come take a look. The estimate is free.
FAQs

Most Delta rollers and seals last 8 to 12 years in Austin before the heat and UV exposure start breaking them down. Weatherstripping is usually the first thing to go, followed by rollers on south-facing sliders. Call (903) 623-1966 if yours are showing wear, and we’ll price the replacement before you commit.
Rollers and weatherstripping are replace-only items, but operators and lock sets can sometimes be rebuilt if the housing is intact and only the gear or cylinder is worn. We’ll tell you which route costs less and what the one-year warranty covers. Call (903) 623-1966 for an honest read.
Most single-part replacements take 60 to 90 minutes once the part is in hand. If we need to order an OEM lock or a glass panel, you’re looking at 3 to 10 days for delivery, then the same short install window. Call (903) 623-1966 and we’ll order it the same day we verify your model.
We keep the most common Delta rollers, plugs, latches, and weatherstripping on our trucks for 1500 and 1600 series units. Specialty hardware and sealed glass panels are ordered per job. You don’t need to buy anything ahead of time; the written quote includes the part.
