ActiveYards Roofing: The Austin Owner’s Guide
ActiveYards roofing parts in Austin typically run $400 to $1,800 installed for repairs, with full roof replacement on an ActiveYards structure landing between $8,000 and $20,000 depending on square footage and material. We stock common ActiveYards-compatible roofing components and can usually match your part the same week you call. Most Austin homeowners discover a problem the hard way: a leak shows up on the ceiling after a Hill Country thunderstorm, or a roofer doing routine maintenance points out cracked flashing or a failed seam. ActiveYards products, primarily known for their aluminum and vinyl fencing and railing systems, also include pergola and pavilion structures with integrated roofing panels. Those roof panels and their connecting hardware are where we see the most failures in Central Texas.
Mason Remodeling Co Austin is an independent service provider, not affiliated with ActiveYards. We work on ActiveYards structures because we know the parts and we know how they fail in this climate.
Which ActiveYards Models This Applies To

ActiveYards roofing components appear most often on their pergola and pavilion lines, including the Arlington, Brookhaven, and Fairmont series. The roofing on these structures is not a single molded piece. It consists of interlocking aluminum panels, ridge caps, side trim, and a network of screws, gaskets, and mounting brackets. Each series uses slightly different panel widths and connection profiles, which is the first compatibility gotcha: a panel from a Brookhaven pergola will not seat properly on a Fairmont frame. The mounting channel is different by roughly 3/8 of an inch.
To identify what you need, look for the series label on the underside of a beam or inside the post cap. If that label has faded in the Texas sun, measure the panel width from edge to edge and note whether the panel snaps in or slides onto a track. Take photos of the failed part from two angles before you call anyone. That saves a wasted trip. For ActiveYards specifically, OEM panels hold their powder coat longer than most aftermarket equivalents, but aftermarket brackets and fasteners are often just as good for half the price. We carry both and will tell you which makes sense for your structure.

Signs Your ActiveYards Roofing Is Failing
- Water pooling on the panel surface. ActiveYards roof panels are designed to shed water, not hold it. Pooling usually means the panel has bowed or the support spacing underneath has shifted. In Austin’s heavy spring rains, pooled water finds any pinhole and turns it into a leak.
- Rust streaks running from fasteners. The screws and brackets on ActiveYards structures are coated, but once that coating scratches during installation or from debris impact, bare steel hits humid air and starts bleeding. The streaks are cosmetic at first, then structural as the fastener corrodes.
- Loose or rattling panels in wind. Austin gets gust fronts coming off the Balcones Escarpment that shake these structures hard. If you hear panels slapping during a storm, the gaskets between panel and frame have compressed or torn. Left alone, the panels work the screws loose and can lift off.
- Gaps opening at panel seams. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature. In a city where we swing from 28 degrees in February to 105 in August, those expansion cycles are violent. Seam gaps wider than a dime mean the factory interlock has worn and water is getting underneath.
- Powder coat flaking at panel edges. The Texas sun is brutal on finish. Once the powder coat starts peeling at the panel lip, the raw aluminum underneath oxidizes and the panel weakens. This is the earliest warning sign of a panel that will need replacement within two to three seasons.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Austin, ActiveYards roofing repair work falls into a few clear price bands. A single replacement panel with trim and labor runs $400 to $900. Replacing a full set of panels on a standard 10×12 pergola roof runs $1,200 to $2,500. Full roof replacement on a larger ActiveYards pavilion structure falls between $8,000 and $20,000, which matches our broader roof replacement pricing across Austin.
What moves the price: how many panels are compromised, whether the underlying support brackets need replacement, and accessibility of the roof surface. A second-story structure or one built over a deck with no ladder access costs more for mobilization and safety setup. Every quote you get from us is a written price before any work starts. That price includes the parts, the labor, disposal of the old components, and our workmanship warranty. If a repair fails within 365 days from the completion date, we come back and make it right at no charge.
DIY or Call Us?
If you are comfortable on a ladder and just want to know what is wrong, you can safely check a few things yourself: photograph the panel seams from below, look for rust at fastener points, and note where water pools after rain. Do not get on top of a pergola or pavilion roof. The aluminum panels are not engineered to hold body weight, especially after years of sun exposure. We regularly see homeowners in Mueller and Rosedale who stepped onto a panel to “just take a quick look” and folded it, turning a $400 repair into a $1,500 one.
Panel replacement requires working at height with two people, aligning interlocking seams, and torquing fasteners to spec without stripping the aluminum. This is not a one-person Saturday job. If you are unsure whether the part actually needs replacing or just reseating, call (903) 623-1966 and describe what you are seeing. Tell me what’s wrong with it. We’ll figure out what it actually needs.
FAQs

ActiveYards roof panels typically last 12 to 18 years in Central Texas before the powder coat fails or the interlocking seams wear out. The Austin sun and hail accelerate that timeline compared to other regions. Panels with north-facing exposure last noticeably longer than south-facing ones.
If the issue is a loose fastener, torn gasket, or a small seam gap, yes, we can usually repair it on the spot. If the panel itself is cracked, bowed, or flaking at the edges, replacement is the honest fix because the panel’s integrity is already gone. Call (903) 623-1966 with photos and we will tell you which path applies before we ever schedule the truck.
Replacing a single panel or a small set of panels on an ActiveYards pergola takes two to four hours on site. Replacing the full roof on a pavilion structure takes one to two days depending on size and access. We schedule a specific day and window, and the crew arrives with the parts in hand.
We stock common ActiveYards-compatible panels, brackets, gaskets, and fasteners for the Arlington, Brookhaven, and Fairmont series. If your specific panel width or color is not on the shelf, we order it and have it in hand before we schedule the install. You never pay a deposit for a part we are guessing at. Call (903) 623-1966 and we will confirm what we have and what needs to be ordered, free of charge.
